Which of these social problems would you rate as being the worst...?

  • - Gambling
    - Drink Driving
    - Gang Violence/Street crime
    - Teenage Pregnancy
    - Another of your choice
    And if you had to try and address this problem (whether you are changing attitudes towards it, or increases people's knowledge of it), how would you achieve this in a simple computer game? - What game design/story line can you see having the best impact on the world's population? I'm looking to create a simple computer game (as part of a much bigger research project) and I'm having difficulty coming up with an idea.


  • I think gang violence is definitely the worst. Do you actually know how gangs were started? They began with the organized crime, (mafia) which started because of prohibition of alcohol. THERE WERE NO GANGS before the government tried to take away something people loved, so there was the good ole mob to give it back to them at much higher prices.
    Look at a current gang, where does their money come from? DRUGS, if the government took control of drugs we would be making money instead of blowing BILLIONS every year to not solve the problem. Are you aware that in Amsterdam (were drugs are legal) they dont even know what Meth is? I personally believe meth is the single worst drug in the world, the most addictive and the easiest to OD on.

    Now of course I dont think we need to legalize all drugs tomorrow but there are some things that need to be changed. Also I dont think there could be anything to change Americans minds about this because must of them cant accept the fact they are wrong, when you say "I want to legalize drugs" people freak out thinking everyone who does drugs is just gonna be ****** up all the time but that is where CONTROL comes in. How hard is it for a 13 yr old to get beer? Not as easy as it is to get acid, so if you are a 13 yr old kid are you going to give your friends older brother $20 for a 6-pack of beer or a friend at school
    $10 for 2 hits of acid? The acid is going to be easier to take and last longer.

    Drunk Driving is also a problem but honestly I think fewer people are effected by it. I think if the penalties were more harsh it wouldnt happen as often. In England if you are caught drunk driving ONCE you loose your license and they hardly have a problem.

  • For me, I think taking drugs illegally would be the worst because it costs you to hallucinate and stuff like that... It costs a lot if you add it up... I think an ideal computer game would be to find sufficient evidance and weedling out secret drug stores and arrest the owners and also to find all the customers...


  • the lack of care and respect for elderly people and people with mental health problems in society,


  • I would say violence and crime would be the worst.

    Maybe a game where you go around and clean up neighborhoods and clean graffiti or something.
