  • Hello again Mongolia, Below you will find the best images I was able to locate that meet your requirements; however one of the far side images is a "bit" over 6 months old. One is from May 16, 2006 and the other was taken on 1 January 2006. This image, taken by the Advanced Moon Imaging Experiment (AMIE) on board ESA?s SMART-1 spacecraft, provides an ?oblique? view of the lunar surface towards the limb, around the Mezentsev, Niepce and Merrill craters, on the far side of the Moon. AMIE obtained this sequence on 16 May 2006. The imaged area is centred at a latitude of 73 North and a longitude of 124 West. http://www.esa.int/SPECIALS/SMART-1/SEM787BUQPE_1.html A 'clean' version of the image can be downloaded here http://esamultimedia.esa.int/images/smart_1/SIDEVIEW.jpg ---------- STATUS REPORT Date Released: Friday, July 14, 2006 Source: ESA SMART-1 Mission ESA SMART-1 Image: Landscapes from the ancient and eroded lunar far side http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewsr.html?pid=21357 ?This image, taken by the advanced Moon Imaging Experiment (AMIE) on board ESA's SMART-1 spacecraft, shows a highly eroded highland area on the lunar far side, close to the equator. AMIE obtained this image on 1 January 2006, from a distance of 1483 kilometres from the surface, with a ground resolution of 134 metres per pixel. The imaged area is centred at a latitude of 4.2 South and longitude 98.4 East. ? http://images.spaceref.com/news/2006/moon_L.jpg Search terms used: Smart-1 "far side" Smart-1 images September impact I hope the information provided is helpful!
