Paper on racism? Politically correct?

  • I am a 9th grade journalism student and we have been assigned to think of a topic to do our paper over and it has to be politically correct.

    would doing your paper ABOUT racism be poltically correct?


  • Yes! I'm sure you will do a great job because you have hit the target on subject matter.

    One thing to remember though... political correctness seems to be more of a social quality in today's lifestyles. As time goes on, and parents rear their children within the guidelines of social morality, the word "political correctness" will eventually fade out of the everyday conversation.


  • If you covered the racism and oppression against the Irish, Scots, Italians, Blacks, Indians , Chinese back in the 1800's it might be ok but if you write about anything racist other than how bad the whites did the blacks you will be on the bad side of everybody .. Not even the whites want to touch that one these days..Personally i am sick of all the special intrests groups wanting more rights than the rest of us get..


  • As long as you are saying that whites are bad, mean, and discriminatory.
    The politically INCORRECT story, which would be the factual one, would be that Affirmative Action is institutionalized racism, and is injurious to race relations. It means people get jobs, get into colleges, etc based on the color of their skin. In the U.S. we have a black incoming president. Why do we still have Affirmative Action?
